This TOCOBO skincare review is in collaboration with Style Korean.
TOCOBO is a new vegan friendly beauty brand from Korea who’s brand motto is to “Value your intuition.” It places a value on essential ingredients at a fair price with the principles of clarity, modernity and satisfaction.

It’s certainly a very aesthetically pleasing brand, with a modern, fresh, fun look.
I received the following to review:

First up in the skincare routine was the Coconut Clay Cleansing Foam. This has ‘Micro Bubble’ deep cleansing for pore care, sebum control with a soothing and moisturising effect. Amongst others, the key ingredients are coconut palm, pink and white mineral clay and saponaria officinals leaf extract. I particularly liked the inclusion of calamine which makes it suitable for dry skin. It has a rather sweet scent, which I’d personally rather leave out. The clay consistency felt more like a mask, but it did leave my skin feeling clean. After a few uses, I had to alternate with my other cleansers as I think this was too harsh for my skin. I do have a concern about the inclusion of the palm origin surfactant and if this was ethically sought. The brand is vegan friendly and cruelty free certified, but I would like to see a sustainable certification.

After cleansing, I used the AHA BHA Lemon Toner. I adore the little lemon on top of this bottle! I think they need to produce more packaging like this, it really caught my eye. This AHA BHA Lemon Toner is described as a low-irritant. It contains 38% lemon extract which exfoliates and brightens the skin. It has a thicker consistency, almost like an essence.
AHA exfoliates the skin surface
BHA exfoliates build up in pores

Even though it says it is suitable for sensitive skin, I was quite worried about this because I thought it might be too harsh for me. As well as the lemon (Vitamin C), it includes glycolic acid (AHA). But, I definitely need salicylic acid (BHA) in my routine due to my hormonal acne, so this was a welcome ingredient. Thankfully, this wasn’t too harsh and I alternated it with a more calming toner to not over exfoliate my skin. Not suitable if your skin reacts to scent as this had quite a strong lemon scent, although this doesn’t linger on the skin.

Next, is the Bifida Biome Essence. This is a probiotic barrier strengthening AHA essence which provides skin protection and soothing with it’s inclusion of highly concentrated lactic acid. It also helps to improve wrinkles and brightening with niacinamide and adenosine. Bifida is new to me, but I relish any barrier strengthening ingredients especially when they protect from external irritation too. I liked this essence and it absorbed quickly into my skin, it does have a light scent but I didn’t mind this.

Finally, my favourite from the range; Multi Ceramide Cream a moisturiser with 3-Type Hyaluronic Acid (10%) for moisturising & 5 Multi Ceramide to give you multi layered moisturising with a water hold system for strengthening of the skin barrier. The packaging is beautiful, it’s an attractive glass patterned jar which I will definitely be able to reuse. The cream consistency is thick, which I’m a big fan of. My dry skin really absorbed this cream, but I don’t feel like it sat heavily on the skin, so it would still be great for oily skin. It’s suitable for sensitive skin, hypoallergenic & PEG free.
TOCOBO also do SPF 50+ in a stick and cream, which I will definitely by trying out!
