I was so lucky to be selected by Style Korean for their latest Try Me Review Me launch.
The theme was Cica – which is short for Centella Asiatica. Cica has become a bit of a buzz word in the skincare industry, because of it’s inflammatory and soothing qualities. And, if you’re like me and suffer with Rosacea, this is music to your ears.

There were two brands to choose from for this campaign, VT Cosmetics and COSRX. I chose the latter as I am more familiar with the brand, however, I will be looking to try the Cica Skin range from VT Cosmetics too, as I’m always on the hunt for products that soothe my redness.
What’s included?
So, I was given the COSRX Pure Fit Cica range and here’s what I got:
▶ [COSRX] Pure Fit Cica Pad
▶ [COSRX] Pure Fit Cica Powder
▶ [COSRX] Pure Fit Cica Calming True Sheet Mask
▶ [COSRX] Pure Fit Cica Toner
▶ [COSRX] Pure Fit Cica Serum
▶ [COSRX] Pure Fit Cica Cream
▶ [COSRX] Pure Fit Cica Cleanser 150ml
Products are vegan, hypoallergenic and dermatologist tested. They’re cruelty, paraben, phthalates and sulfate free.

My Review
In order to test them fully, I completely eradicated any other products from my skin care range and solely used these (except for prescribed creams). The Cica-7 collection contains one of the highest concentrations of cica and includes centella in 7 forms. As well as the qualities mentioned earlier, cica is also good for moisturising, reducing acne and for sensitive skin. So, I was looking out for these qualities as I used.

I tested them for three weeks before completing this review. I don’t know if it was coincidence, or the products, but even after two uses, my skin was a lot calmer! The weather/stress can flare my skin up, but I do believe this routine reduced this significantly.
Pure Fit Cica Cleanser – RRP $18
This product has a low ph to maintain the skins natural moisture barrier and is nice and gentle to skin. It was lovely and thick and left my skin feeling thoroughly cleansed. Sadly, I just couldn’t get along with the scent, which is a shame because I really loved the cleansing quality.

Pure Fit Cica Toner – RRP $22
I really liked this toner. I alternated between using my fingers to apply and a cotton pad, applying liberally during my night time skin routine. It has no scent and a watery consistency which absorbs instantly.
Pure Fit Cica Serum – $28
This was definitely a light serum, it wasn’t sticky or heavy on my skin. It absorbed well and I was able to move onto the next step quite quickly. I liked the dropper application and used this directly on my face, or in my palm if using the Pure Fit Cica Powder.

Pure Fit Cica Powder -$18
At first I was a little confused about the purpose of this product. But, it is best described as a ‘booster’ for particularly inflamed skin. I used a dash of this in my palm and mixed with the serum every other day (However, you can mix with the toner if you’d prefer). Pinus Pinaster Bark extract restores the skins natural defences against external stressors, whilst calming and soothing. Alternatively, you can apply straight onto a blemish using a cotton swab to reduced breakouts.
Pure Fit Cica Cream – $32
My skin can often be tight and dehydrated. This cream has no scent and a lovely thick consistency, whilst still being light weight. I felt it absorbed quickly so that I could apply makeup afterwards. At the end of week 3, my skin did feel quite dry. It’s difficult to say if this was because it wasn’t moisturising enough, or the effects of central heating/weather etc.
Pure Fit Cica Calming True Sheet Mask – $6
After cleansing, apply this sheet mask for an instant boost for the whole face. The sheet material is cooling and so also provides an added calming effect. It’s fast absorbing and fitted nicely to my face. It’s drier than alot of sheet masks I’ve use, but I liked this. I don’t like when the serum drips all down your neck.
Pure Fit Cica Pad – $25.50
This product isn’t necessarily one you’ll use everyday. It has the consistency of a sheet mask, but in miniature form. Some nights, my skin is so red and sore – like sunburn. I applied these onto my cheeks for 10 minutes and my skin was soothed instantly. They were cooling, moisturising and an all round winner for me.

Final Thoughts
I really liked this range. I had high hopes and they were largely met. My skin didn’t break out after using all of the new products and it definitely reduced my redness or helped to calm flare ups. My only criticism is that I didn’t like the smell of the cleanser. My favourites were the Pure Fit Cica Powder and Pure Fit Cica Pads (They also do one for improving the appearance of pores). A great range for sensitive skin, Rosacea or redness sufferers.
Beauty Bay also offer a trial kit of the serum, cleanser and toner here.
