Snail Gel – A New Beauty Must Have?

Snail Gel is everywhere in the beauty industry at the moment. Don’t believe me? check your ingredients! Particularly sheet mask, CC creams and moisturisers.

Yes, it sounds a little weird, but there’s a reason it’s taken the market by storm. Snail gel is known for it’s anti-aging benefits and regenerating of skin cells. The ingredients; ‘Helix Aspersa Muller’ is what snails use to regenerate their shells. Dr.organic has combined this with soothing Aloe Vera to moisturise and sooth skin.

The Bioactive Skincare range from Dr.organic has produced the Organic Snail Gel. Suitable for face and body and free from parabens, petrolatum, synthetic colours and silicones (amongst others). It’s organically certified, suitable for vegetarians and cruelty free. 20180915_1915071250911241172434683.jpg

I’ve been using this in place of my regular moisturiser, to fully test it’s ability. It has a lovely smell thanks to the lemongrass, lime and may chang oil and is clear and smooth in texture. The 50ml pot is more than enough and I was kindly sent two from Holland & Barrett – of course, all views are my own.

Firstly, as a body moisturiser, I used the snail gel on my legs after shaving. It definitely helped to lock in moisture and helped to keep them smooth. I liked that it absorbed quickly and there was no left over residue.

As a facial moisturiser, it was clear that the 70% organic ingredients were benefitting my skin. After just a week, my skin felt softer and smoother. I also found it quite soothing to apply after waxing my eyebrows! The Aloe Vera is definitely a plus for me.

The Organic Snail Gel is currently half price for £9.45 in Holland & Barrett. They also do a really cheap face mask as part of the range.
