Avène Antirougeurs Range

For those of you who follow my social media channels, you’ll know that I suffer with Rosacea. This is facial redness, irritation and burning. It’s embarrassing and uncomfortable, so any relief is welcome. Thank you so much to Avène for sending me their range of products. I’ve previously (and currently) used their ‘Jour’ and ‘Fort’ creams for sensitive skin prone to couperosis/rosacea.

Products are all from the French natural spring; Saint-Odile. Since 1743, Avène have had a hydrotherapy centre focusing on the beneficial, healing results. They truly are experts in the field of sensitive skin.

The ‘Jour’ cream I use daily. It’s tinted slightly green(perfect to colour correct redness) and has an SPF 20. UV is a massive trigger for rosacea. It’s also moisturising for dry skin. There is an emulsion version for normal to combination skin. The ‘Fort’ cream is for chronic redness, providing an extra barrier. I tend to use this cream at night, or as an extra layer on top of ‘Jour’ if it’s particularly bad.

In addition, I’ve previously used their ‘Calm’ repair mask. Keep this in the fridge for extra cooling! In case you hadn’t noticed, I’m a big fan of Avène!

Now, onto the new products for my range.

Firstly, the ‘Dermo Cleansing Milk’. This is a lovely, calming cleanser. Its subtle scent smells divide. It’s fresh and soothing. It helped to unclog my skin without any harsh exfoliants. It’s suitable for daily use and is complimented but the spring water spray.

The ‘Eau Thermal’ spring water comes in an aerosol can. It’s vaporised spring water with so many uses! Firstly, helps with removing makeup. Second, it’s great for soothing skin after shaving, or on particularly bad rosacea days. It’s reccomended for soothing skin after surgeries, grazed or damaged skin, sunburn and my favourites; during travel or after exercise. I embarassingly avoid exercise purely because of how much redder I get! So this is great.

Finally, my absolute favourite. I’m annoyed I haven’t discovered it sooner! The ‘Crème peaux intolérantes’. A protecting cream for hypersensitive skin. Designed specifically for irritated or naturally sensitive skin. It’s patented D.E.F.I (Device for Exclusive Formula Integrity) design provides a sterile cream containing only essential ingredients. The bottle has a patented seal that protects the product to maintain sterilisation. It’s specific ingredient of ‘Parcerine®’ helps to reduce skin reactivity. It really did soothe and calm my skin. It’s particularly red and sore at the moment. It’s hypoallergenic, fragrance and paraben free.

I’m so, so thankful to Milly and the Avène team for sending these products. They’ve literally changed my skin and improved my confidence! The Avène De Bain hydrotherapy centre is now on my bucket list to visit and I can’t recommend this brand enough. There is no cure for Rosacea, but it can be soothed and reduced with products like these.

  1. I have not tried much from Avene but have tried their anti-aging cream which I like. Everything about this brand looks and feels calming. It is always good to find something that suits our skin. 🙂
