Birchbox review – June

Birchbox absolutely smashed it this month with their ‘daytripping’ theme. They transformed the box into an actually decent sized cosmetics pouch or Birchbag. Subscribers chose their preferred colour (mint or yellow).

Inside, were two make up items, a hair product, hand cream and a body scrub!

My favourite was the Arrow, waterproof eyeliner in Bright Now. This was a decent sized sample, and would RRP for £12.50 full size. I don’t currently own any nude eyeliners, so I was excited to try this. I actually applied like a regular eyeliner (not just in the corners as recommended!). It was a very smooth application and it.did.not.budge. It lasted all day without smudging or fading! I have since used it below my eyebrows and on my waterline to help brighten things up!

Secondly, the MeechNMia pencil brow liner in #21 RRP £12.99. This helped to shape and fill my brows without colour blocking. I was really impressed how easy it was to apply and that I didn’t need to do any blending or fixing.

I received a Scrub Love Coffee Body Scrub (which I will be reviewing in further detail soon!)

amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo, provided a sample size of their dry shampoo. It was a great fragrance and I love the design. However, it doesn’t beat Batiste’s brown hair dry shampoo for me personally.

Finally, there was a hand cream from Cowshed. A nourishing hand cream with a fun branding image. They include more unusual ingredients such as coriander and grapefruit, but don’t worry – no cow pat involved!

Additionally a 15% discount when you shop at Trouva.

All in all, a great Birchbox this month that has restored my faith in their subscription service.
